When assessing the hazardous properties of waste, the given waste is assessed from its origin, or from the raw materials used, through technological processes to the actually generated waste and its properties.
Two evaluators are usually required for the overall assessment. One deals with the chemical properties of the waste, the other assesses the health aspect of the waste (carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, etc.).
Our company is authorised by the Ministry of the Environment to assess the hazardous properties of wastes designated as HP1, HP2, HP3, HP12, HP14 and HP15.
If the waste is not found to contain hazardous properties during the assessment, the evaluator issues a certificate of exclusion of hazardous properties and classifies the waste in the category ‘Other’.
If the waste is found to contain at least one hazardous property during the assessment, the waste is assessed as hazardous and reassignment to the category ‘Other’ is not possible.
The entire assessment of hazardous properties is a rather demanding and expensive process. It is therefore always appropriate to thoroughly consider the economic side of the given plan.
